Oregon Kelp Forest Status Report and Restoration Plan

Sunflower Sea Star Recovery

Timeline:

A permitting plan for transporting sunflower sea stars for captive breeding and temporary release in Oregon is being considered by ODFW, ORKA, and collaborators. The landscape of fear experiments in Alaska started in winter 2023 and we hope to try temporary sea star releases in Oregon in summer 2024.
